Summer Vacation

Happy summer!

If it wasn’t abundantly clear already, I’ve been taking some time off from the blog during the summer. It’s harder to get motivated to write about hockey when there is no hockey to speak of. Unless you consider either (a) the Shane Doan sweepstakes, (b) the Coyotes ownership saga or (c) the NHL-NHLPA CBA discussions to be compelling hockey storylines. I certainly don’t.

So, I’ve taken half the summer off, so I might as well follow the players’ leads and take the rest of the summer off as well. I am still writing however, and hope to start strong again in September. There will be a couple new series of posts I’m planning, including a breakdown of the designs for all the different elements of a hockey uniform, and BTLNHL Vintage, breaking down NHL logos that are no longer in use. Some will be extremely old (think early 20th-century). Some not so much (think Thrashers). And, of course, there will undoubtedly be some uniform changes for some teams, and I’ll go over those in detail as well.

Even if training camps don’t start in September, I will be! I don’t believe in lockouts. In fact, in my alternate world, the 2004-05 lockout never happened and the Canucks won the Cup that year. So there.

Thanks to everyone for reading, and I promise you I’ll be back in mid-September!
